Bathroom Beauties

A long time ago I decorated soaps by cutting out wrapping paper and using a sealer to attach them and they were really effective. So when we started making these butterflies I thought they would also look fantastic.

There is two different ways we have found to use them with soaps. This first one is so easy and make great gifts for friends or family. Simply go to your local craft store and purchase a waterproof sealer, I know Jo Sonja make one but for overseas buyers I am sure you will find  another similar product.

Use a foam brush and paint a thin layer of sealer on soap. Then simply place the butterfly on your piece of soap, the light shade of soap the better.  Wait for it to dry for a short time then paint another layer and continue this till you have 3 or 4 layers. It will become  shiny and have like a clear coat over your soap. The only handicap is when using the soap you use the other side so you can only attach thebutterfly to one side using this method. When soap has run out you will be left with a butterfly encased in a clear protective film. I wrap them in a clear package and I always try and use a lovely handmade soap as it lends to that natural experience. Great for gifts for mothers day as children can easily make them as the sealer is also non toxic.
